The Patient Centered Care Programme

The Patient Centered Care (PCC) programme is a dynamic three-part series designed

to build the capacity of frontline medical professionals, who desire to be change

agents in healthcare.

 

Participants can expect to learn context specific, practical frameworks and concepts

of patient centred care, including, but not limited to, shared decision-making,

effective communication, empathetic care delivery and how to respond proactively

to rapidly changing healthcare landscape.

The programme boasts a multidisciplinary faculty that includes doctors, nurses and

lawyers, who use their wealth of healthcare industry experiences to deliver a

practical and contextual curriculum that addresses the changing landscape of

healthcare

Programme Structure:

PCC is delivered as a three part masterclass series (with each part delivered over

two days), and an additional three month capstone.

The series is broken down into three distinct patient centered care subjects and will

be delivered through a combination of short lectures, case studies, role play and

engaging classroom discussion.

The series is broken down as follows:

Part One: Culture, beliefs and communication

Part Two: Optimizing hospital processes: driving and measuring change

Part Three: Law and ethics

Upon completion of the masterclass series, participants will be required to carry out

active learning (capstone) projects to apply the skills learned in the classroom to

real-life situations and ensure learning is sustained within their facilities.

Who should apply?

Front line healthcare practitioners who provide direct patient care including:

doctors, nurses, midwives, and pharmacists.

All levels of experience are welcome to apply.

Important dates:

Application closes May 19th, 2017

Program starts June 30th, 2017.

Credits/Fees and Logistics:

The cost is 25,000 NGN per participant for the entire series.

Scholarships are available based on need, and on a first come first served basis

CPD/CME points will be awarded to participants upon completion.

The training sessions will be delivered in Lagos State
